My name is Aria and I am 17 years old. I have had an eating disorder since I was ten years old. I was first diagnosed in September of 2011 when I was admitted to the Center For Eating Disorders at Sheppard Pratt. It was the longest 5.5 weeks of my life. I would like to say that I got out of there and was all better but sadly not true. I relapsed quite badly by the summer of 2012. I returned to treatment at Remuda Ranch and was there for 4 weeks. It was an incredible experience. Just like the first time though, I didn't go in wanting to recover.Recently I spent 6 weeks at the Center for Eating Disorder Care at Princeton. It was by far the best program I have been too. My ambivalence towards recovery has been challenged and I am still fighting it. I am now just finding that want within myself and still struggle all the time but I will persevere. I refuse to be a statistic at the end of this. I know there is a life worth living and I will find it! Stay Strong.
